Every semester the International Relations Office holds an orientation programme especially for incoming international students. The orientation is designed to help you settle into life in Heidelberg and acquaint you with the university and your institute(s).
You will receive general information on studying at Heidelberg University as well as its various facilities (institutes, libraries, cafeterias, etc.). You will also receive important information about the formalities connected with your stay in Heidelberg (enrolment, reporting your residence, residence permit, health insurance, etc.).
Next to the core presentations, the three-day orientation includes tours of the institutes and facilities as well as individual counselling in small groups by tutors (Heidelberg University students), who will also help you set up your individual class schedule. Of course there will also be plenty of opportunity to meet fellow students.
You will also receive a folder containing all the key information on university counselling and support services as well as the range of leisure and cultural opportunities that the university and the city of Heidelberg have to offer.
The Orientation Days of the 2013/2014 wintersemester will be held from
Oktober 8 until Oktober 10, 2013.
The opening will be on Tuesday, Oktober 8, 2013 at 1.30 p.m. in the Aula of the Neue Universität (Universitätsplatz).
We cordially invite you to attend and strongly recommend that you participate. You will receive important information and can make valuable contact with other students.
Please register for the orientation by filling out and sending us this form by September 20, 2013. We will send you the detailed schedule via e-mail.

Please note that in addition to the orientation offered by the International Relations Office, the individual departments also offer introductory events especially devoted to their specific programmes. For more information on these events,
